Celebrating CTE Month
February is National CTE Month- a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE (Career & Technical Education) and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. Chantilly Academy is proud to the be home of the largest CTE offerings in Fairfax County Public Schools. Each week in the month of February, we will share information about our programs, student success stories, and encourage our community to learn more about the programs we offer.
Career and technical education, or CTE, is education that directly prepares students for high-wage, high-demand careers. CTE covers many different fields, including health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, hospitality and management and many more, as described in ACTE’s What is CTE? page and Sector Sheets. CTE encompasses many different types of education, from classroom learning to certification programs to work-based learning opportunities outside the classroom.
Here at Chantilly Academy we strive to ensure students leave with the best experience possible to include the development of problem-solving, project completion, research, math, college application, work-related, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills during high school.
