FCPS DIT Internships
Fairfax County Public Schools is proud to announce the return of the IT Internship Program for the 2020-2021 school year. Through this work-based learning program, FCPS will provide a variety of internship opportunities for rising FCPS Juniors and Seniors seeking on-the-job experience in many facets of the Department of Information Technology (DIT). The offices in DIT offering internship experiences are listed below.

Integrated Digital Technology Services
IDTS is made up of four teams that support the school system’s digital technology needs. This includes support for the creation and delivery of professional learning and classroom learning digital resources (i.e. online courses, videos, podcasts, etc.), installation and training for school studios, audio-and visual support for events.
Technology Architecture & Assessment
Technology Architecture & Assessment supports the mission of FCPS with technical assessment of administrative and instructional software products. We identify standards, compatibility, functionality, and challenges related to the adoption, installation and use of technology products in FCPS.
Network Engineering Services
Network Engineering Services (NES) is responsible for providing engineering support to networks located at 240 schools and administrative offices. In addition, NES also provides support to the expansive located throughout FCPS. NES is responsible for the maintenance and cyclic replacement of 4,600 switches and 10,000 wireless access points to ensure optimal network performance and resiliency.
Technology Support Services Center
TSSC delivers technology support and services to schools and centers in a variety of ways. Foremost, within each school, Technology Support Specialists (TSSpecs) perform server administration functions, troubleshoot problems with desktop operating systems and software applications, optimize installation and configuration of approved FCPS technologies, and diagnose school networking issues.
IT Service Desk
The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for anyone who accesses FCPS’ Information Technology resources to receive help desk support and answers to IT related questions.
